Hi, I'm Lauren and I've never been good at fitting into boxes.

Not the corporate ones. Not the "normal" ones. Definitely not the ones that expect you to show up as just one version of yourself.

I'm a neurodivergent woman who spent years trying to make the traditional work world work for me. Spoiler alert: it didn't. The fluorescent lights, the small talk, the pretending to care about things that didn't matter, the masking just to make it through a shift - it was exhausting in ways that people who haven't experienced it can't quite understand.

But here's what I learned: struggling with "typical" doesn't mean struggling, period. It means you're wired for something different.

Finding My Worlds

While I was burning out in jobs that weren't meant for me, I was coming alive in my own spaces.

Gaming became my escape and my community. Horror games that made my heart race. Cozy simulation games that let me build perfect little worlds. Dating sims where I could explore stories and choices. Behind a screen, with a controller in my hands, I could be fully myself: expressive, funny, genuine. No masking required.

Art became my language. Some days I wanted to create cute, soft things that made people smile. Other days, I needed to pour out something dark and raw. I refused to pick just one aesthetic, one style, one "brand." My art is as multifaceted as I am (and that's not a flaw, it's a feature).

Sex work became my empowerment. As Lauren Wilde on OnlyFans, I found autonomy, creativity, and financial independence. I learned that sexuality doesn't have to be shameful, that pleasure is valid, and that I could build a business around being authentically myself, including the parts society tells women to hide.

Each of these worlds taught me something crucial: I thrive when I'm allowed to be genuine.

The Birth of After Dark Digital

In July 2025, I took the leap and officially started After Dark Digital LLC.

Not because I had it all figured out. Not because I had a massive following or a trust fund. But because I was tired of waiting for permission to build a life that actually fit my brain, my interests, and my values.

I realized there are so many people like me out there - people who love gaming AND sex positivity. People who want witchy moon phase trackers AND educational resources about pleasure. People who refuse to be just one thing, who live authentically across all hours of the day.

I won't lie - building a business with a neurodivergent brain has its challenges.

Some days, I have hyperfocus superpowers and create an entire product line in one sitting. Other days, executive dysfunction means I'm proud of myself for answering three emails. Some weeks, I'm a marketing genius. Other weeks, I forget my own website password.

But here's what traditional jobs never offered me: the flexibility to work WITH my brain instead of against it.

I can take a break when I'm overstimulated. I can work at 2am when inspiration strikes. I can structure my business around my actual energy patterns instead of pretending I'm productive during arbitrary hours. I can be honest about my struggles without fear of being fired.
